Latest App Updates – Continuing to develop and improve

Posted on November 22, 2017

At PCS, our central ethos revolves around a constant yearning for improvement. Continuing to develop and raise the standards of work processes can seem daunting, but our team are well equipped when it comes to upping our game and providing the best solutions.

Throughout 2017, we’ve been listening to feedback from the current OPCCs we work with who use our Independent Custody Visitor (ICV) app. The feedback we’ve received has been invaluable in allowing us to make some very beneficial changes to the structure of the app, has greatly improved a number of areas, resulting in the creation of a much smoother user experience for everyone involved.

In 2017 alone, we’ve performed more than 130 updates and improvements to the ICV App based on feedback from OPCCs who currently use it. As a result, the app functions on a superior level to previous versions, seamlessly reflecting and improving on existing work processes for both ICVs and OPCC staff. The improvements we’ve made to the app include:

• Improving data reporting processes for admins to make end-of-year reports more accessible and contain data specific to the OPCC in question. Reports have also been improved for sending and identifying any issues detainees may have experienced.
• Rotas, users, and visits when it comes to ICVs implementing the app have been streamlined to ensure a smooth working process, adding to the improvements already made in reducing paperwork and administration for the OPCCs. There are now a greater variety of options to ensure the visit is recorded as accurately as possible.
• Identifying and building customised fields for certain OPCC users to fit more closely with their current work processes and allow a seamless transition from paper forms to the ICV App.
• Working to improve overall user experience for both ICV users and administrators by improving functionality and the user-friendly interface.

The ICV App is constantly being reviewed for areas of improvement, in order to aid the crucial work of the OPCCs. We greatly encourage and welcome feedback from our users and transform this valuable data into substantial improvements that are not only valuable to the OPCCs, but offer significant contribution to a better user experience overall.
